The Furman University Women’s Volleyball Overnight Camp is a 3-day. high-level, college preparatory program that will run from July 14 until July 16. Its design is for prospective college volleyball athletes with playing experience in Junior Varsity or Varsity teams. Furthermore, this overnight volleyball camp will introduce the participants to combinations attack and defensive strategies and team play. It is going to be a challenging but fun learning environment. In addition, this volleyball camp will take place at the Alley Gymnasium and the Physical Activity Center of the Furman University campus.
Furman University, originally Furman Academy and Theological Institution, is a private, coeducational, liberal arts university in Greenville, South Carolina. It is the oldest learning institution in the state of South Carolina. Its name is in honor of Richard Furman, a Baptist Church Pastor. The university is an affiliation of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities. Moreover, it is also part of the Annapolis Group and the Oberlin Group. Furman University is 53rd in the National Liberal Arts Colleges, 2017 edition of Best Colleges rankings. Currently, the university accommodates around 2,700 undergraduate students. It also has 20 intercollegiate teams. They call themselves the Paladins. And, they are competing in the Southern Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division 1. Furman University Women’s Volleyball Overnight Camp Organizers
Michelle Young is the head coach of the Furman University Paladins women’s volleyball team. The 2017-2018 season is her 17th year at the helm of the university’s women’s volleyball program. She is the 2006, the 2009, the 2013 and the 2014 Southern Conference Coach of the Year awardee. Additionally, Coach Michelle Young is also the recipient of the Furman’s J. Lyles Alley Coach of the Year award. Then, the Paladins women’s volleyball assistant coach is Natalie Braun. She is a Master’s in Education graduate from Mercer University. And finally, completing the Furman women’s volleyball coaching staff is Christi Sherman, the department assistant.
